Can't Find the Inmate You're Looking For?
1. The booking is still processing
It can take several hours from arrest to when a record appears on the roster. Fingerprinting, health screening, and data entry all happen first. If the arrest was recent, wait about an hour and search again.
2. The name is spelled differently
Rosters use full legal names exactly as they appear on ID. Try the last name only, or a partial spelling, then match by date of birth or booking date. Middle names, suffixes, and hyphenated names can all shift how a record is listed.
3. They're at a different facility
Placer County has two jails — the South Placer Jail in Roseville and the Auburn Main Jail. The county roster covers both, but if someone was arrested by a city police department, they may briefly be held at a local station before transfer. State or federal custody is searched separately.
4. Check the 10-Day Arrest Log
Placer County publishes a rolling 10-day arrest log of recent bookings. If someone was arrested in the last week or so and isn't on the main roster yet, the arrest log may confirm it.
